WATER RESCUE is divided into two major categories, STILL water rescue and SWIFT water rescue.

The equipment used is often the same although it may be used in different ways. Equipment for water rescue can be as basic as throw bags or as complicated as safety lines and boats used in a low head dam rescue. Ocean or Surf rescue utilizes some techniques from each basic type with another set of variables.
